What We Do (and What We Don't)
This is a dirt-work service, full stop: shaping ground, moving water, clearing land, digging holes to spec, and leaving sites stable and clean. It doesn't include pouring concrete, framing buildings, or installing septic tanks — but it does cover the excavation, pads, and trenches those trades build on, working alongside builders, septic installers, and GCs across the CSRA. That focus is deliberate: you want operators who do this one thing constantly, not a general handyman with a rented mini-excavator.
Why Local Soil Knowledge Matters Here
Augusta sits on the fall line — the geological seam where the Piedmont's clay hills meet the Coastal Plain's sandy soils. That means the ground genuinely changes across the CSRA, and sometimes across a single property: Cecil red clay that swells when wet and bakes hard in August on one end, looser sandy soil on the other.
That matters for your project in practical ways. Clay can't be graded or compacted at the wrong moisture without building failures into the work. Water that would soak into sand sits on clay and has to be routed deliberately. A pond that would leak through sandy soil seals naturally in clay that's cut and compacted correctly. Roughly a fifth of Augusta sits in mapped floodplain, so pad elevations and drainage aren't afterthoughts. An out-of-town crew or a weekend equipment rental doesn't price any of that in. We do, because it's the ground we work every week.
How We Work
- Free on-site estimates, in writing. A walk of the property with you, then a firm, itemized number on paper. The invoice matches the quote.
- Realistic scheduling. Scheduling in clay country depends on weather windows, so dates are set realistically and kept — the most common complaint about dirt-work contractors is the no-show.
- Georgia 811, every time. Utility locates get called before any bucket touches dirt — Georgia law requires it. No exceptions, including "quick" jobs.
- Licensed, insured operators. Excavation at this scale is performed by licensed, insured operators, with proof of insurance available before work starts. {{LICENSE_LINE_IF_APPLICABLE}}
- Clean sites. Debris hauled to licensed facilities, grades left stable, no ruts across your yard as a parting gift.
